Information:
Cordoba City
Founded on the Suquía river bank on July 6th, 1573, this city was originally called by its founder (the Spanish Luis de Cabrera), "Cordoba of the New Andalucía".
This important city (the country´s second in population after Buenos Aires), is very modern and at the same time, has kept buildings of the colonial times, from seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Walking along Cordoba streets and avenues, you´ll notice that colonial architecture coexists with modern buildings.
Stadium and Chateau Carreras District
The Stadium started its construction in 1976, and two years later was finished in order to host the Football World Championship in 1978.
Viceroy Sobremonte´s House
It is the most beautiful colonial house preserved, and the Province´s Historical Museum works there.
This house that dates from 1752 was Viceroy Sobremonte´s home between 1784 and 1796. Its magnificent architecture, its chapel, yard, balcony and bedrooms in the upper floor -which preserve the original furniture and objects- are a priceless historical heritage. |
