Located about 77 kilometers away from Puerto Madryn, the Valdés Peninsula was declared Natural Reserve. It is the habitat of a variety of marine mammals like: dolphins, killer whale, wolves and sea elephants. Nevertheless, the star of the place is the "Franca Austral Whale", that every year, between the months of May and December arrives at the coasts to procreate.
There you will find not only whales -although they are the greatest attraction-, but also other marine animals such as sea lions, which can be seen across the Peninsula, and mainly in Puerto Pirámides Fauna Reserve, from November to March when about 1500 animals concentrate there.
